After a two-week break, Aleck went back to Mother's Day Out at St. Timothy today. He had new teachers and a new classroom and was not happy about the changes. It broke my heart to leave him crying. It didn't help matters that Aleck saw his best friends, Brooke and Presley, but he couldn't play with them because they are in different classes. It makes me sad to think about how fast my little boy is growing up.
I bought an Elmo rolling backpack for Aleck so he can help be responsible for getting his stuff to and from the car. He loved the backpack so much he slept with it the first two days. He couldn't wait to show Dede, Brooke and Presley his backpack. Unfortunately, the only thing he wants to carry around in his backpack is his sippy cup. When I loaded his bag with a change of clothes and diapers for Mother's Day Out, he would say, "No, Mommy", and quickly take everything out except his water cup. It kind of defeats the purpose when I have to take diapers and clothes in a separate bag while also making sure he keeps up with his backpack. I'm not sure where he gets that strong will of his.
