Aleck had a fall party today at St. Vincent’s. When I told Aleck that Mommy was coming to help with the party, he was so excited. I was so proud of how well behaved he was. He ran up to me when I first got there, but then he went and sat down on his name for circle time while Charlotte’s mom, Amy, read the book The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid Of Anything.
We decorated miniature pumpkins and played a pumpkin bowling game. I overhead Aleck proudly telling his friends, “My mommy made that,” referring to the bowling pins decorated to look like pumpkins and it made my heart melt.
We had a great lunch of sandwiches cut into pumpkin shapes followed by the most adorable cupcakes with a waffle cone hat. Aleck took the waffle cone off his cupcake and stuffed the cupcake in the cone then ate it like it was an ice cream cone. Yummy!
I made gift bags for the class. Thanks, Joni, for letting me raid your stash of Stampin Up supplies.
Tonight as I was putting Aleck to bed, we talked about the party. With the sweetest smile on his face, Aleck said, “Mom, I so pwoud of you for hepping my fwiends make punkins aday.”
I am so thankful for these sweet memories and that Aleck has an amazing teacher, Mrs. Jordan, who loves him and takes such great care of my little man.
