About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Girl’s Weekend Gabby Scrapper Style

This weekend I am in Weatherford at the Covered Bridge Inn, a scrapbook retreat bed and breakfast.  I was fortunate enough to attend the retreat for the first time this Spring, and have been looking forward to the Fall retreat ever since.  There is a waiting list, but I was lucky enough to get to go, thanks to a friend backing out at the last minute.  Dede, Teri and I are in the same bedroom again and we stayed up way to late telling stories and laughing like school girls.  Both nights I stayed up until 2:30 a.m.  I am exhausted, but the late night laughs were so worth it!

I have been so pampered with wonderful meals and I even had a massage.  I spent the majority of the weekend working on a book created by pulling my blog content into a book format.  It has been so fun to look back over the last few years.

We had a television show themed costume party Saturday night.  I was Wilma from The Flintstones.  Another group of ladies were the Pink Ladies from the movie Grease.

I am so thankful to get the opportunity to get to spend time with such wonderful and godly women.  I am already looking forward to the Spring Retreat.  Thanks, Gabby Scrappers for a wonderful weekend!
