About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Grandparents and Grand Friends Day

Aleck’s school had a Grandparents and Grand Friends Day at school.  Unfortunately, our family lives too far away but Aleck asked Joni to come as his special friend.  Thank you, Joni, for being such a Grand Friend!  The morning started with the children singing several songs.  I sat on the floor and joined in with the song, Five Little Speckled Frogs, and Aleck thought that was awesome.  Later, Joni helped Aleck make a special card that he later gave her.  They decorated a yummy cupcake to look like a turkey.  I know it was yummy, because I ate the whole thing later that day.  Bad Mommy, bad Mommy!

We went to chapel and I was so proud to see how respectful and well behaved Aleck was.  A few times, Aleck looked up at me with his head tilted sideways and a smile on his face.  Those brief glances conveyed total love and adoration.  My sweet Aleck, I hope you always look at Mommy that way.
