About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Visit from Becca

My dear friend, Rebecca, was in town for work this week.  Her schedule was packed, but we were able to spend some time together this afternoon before her flight home to Alabama.  Becca was my roommate and the first friend that I made when I moved to Birmingham in 1997.  It has been almost two years since we have seen one another, but we have the kind of friendship where you pick up right where you left off.  I love that about Becca.  I was pregnant with Ella the last time we saw Becca and her family.  We spent the night with them in Tuscaloosa on our way to visit Tom’s parents.  That was the visit that Aleck threw such a huge temper tantrum that Becca’s neighbors called the police.  But that’s another story.

Ella took to Becca immediately, and Aleck, of course, has NEVER met a stranger.  The visit was short, but still so special.  Unfortunately, the picture was grainy.  For some reason, my ISO was on 2800.  Go figure.  Oh well, I got a picture, and that is really what’s important.  We love and miss you, Becca.

I MUST hear the police story, please. It would cheer me up...I feel certain. Why is it that there is the low after the high from our fun weekends? I feel like Debbie Downer this week.

Cari,

check out this post back in April 2008. http://beebeesblessings.blogspot.com/2009/04/alecks-first-encounter-with-police.html

It's normal to be down after those weekends. Many of your friends are like sisters and that is probably the most time you get to spend with them all year. I have a week of down in the dumps after I spend time with my sister. Keep your chin up!
