About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Beach Mornings

We woke up this morning and enjoyed coffee on the balcony overlooking the beach before we headed to the beach for a swim before Glenda and the kids had to head home.  The water was cleaner, but there was still seaweed in the surf.  Aleck wouldn’t even put his feet in the water.  He spent some time in a beach chair watching us play, but didn’t get wet until we went to the pool.

Tyler and I put on goggles and swam pretty far from the shore.  Tyler and I saw a stingray.  Later, Tom and Tyler swam out and saw a small shark while they were swimming.  I’m thankful I missed the shark spotting.DSC09160DSC_5421 copyDSC_5436DSC_5443DSC_5457

Tyler was trying to convince Aleck that the seaweed was harmless, but Aleck wasn’t buying it.

Ella is absolutely fearless around the water.  Grinning ear to ear, she will leap from the edge of the pool into the water.  She comes up kicking and heads back to the edge of the pool to jump again.
