About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Happy 4th of July

I was a bit under the weather this morning.  I woke up feeling like I was coming down with a cold.  I am so thankful that Glenda was here to help Tom with the kids on the beach.  Later in the day, I started feeling better.  The water was cleaner today so while Ella and Aleck were napping, Glenda, Tyler, Jessica and I took advantage of an opportunity to go for a swim in the ocean.

We headed to the Seaside Amphitheater for a concert and fireworks, but couldn’t find a place to park.  Instead, we walked down to the beach and watched fireworks on the beach.  We still had a good view and were able to see Rosemary Beach fireworks to the left and Seaside to the right.

Ella had a blast rolling around in the sand in the dark.  That is, until she decided to bend over and lick the sand.  She immediately started spitting and gagging, and eventually threw up.  I wiped her mouth with a towel and stripped her shirt off and we continued watching the fireworks.  When we walked up to the condo after the fireworks with Ella shirtless, someone said, “Oh, what a cute little boy!”  They must not have noticed her pink ruffled skirt.  What kind of mom would let her darling little girl run around shirtless, indeed?
