About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Donuts with Daddy

Tom took Aleck to Mother's Day Out today for Donuts with Daddy. Aleck was so excited to show Tom around the room and show him all his favorite toys. For Father's Day, Aleck gave Tom an oven mitt with his little hand stamped on the front. The look on Aleck's face when Tom opened the bag was priceless.

North Texas Scottish Festival

Tom's bagpipe band played at the Scottish Festival last weekend. Aleck had a blast! He is such a hit with his red hair and his little kilt. Despite being 8 1/2 months pregnant, I tolerated the heat fairly well.

Aleck was mesmerized by the band, Brother, a celtic tribal trio. It was all I could do to keep him from climbing up on stage during the performance.

First Day at St. Timothy Mother's Day Out

Aleck started his first day at St. Timothy today. He is attending half days, two days a week for the summer. I was a little worried that he would have some separation anxiety since we are switching to a different Mother's Day Out, but he did great. When he entered the room, he saw a firetruck and made a bee line for it. I am so proud of my brave little man.

Fort Worth Zoo

Aleck and I joined Dede, Brooke, and Presley at the Fort Worth Zoo today. The zoo opened an hour early today for Member Appreciation Day and the weather was perfect. Aleck has become so familiar with the route to the zoo that he starts making monkey sounds when we take the exit for the zoo. It is absolutely adorable. The kids had a blast feeding the birds and riding the Yellow Rose Express. Thank you, Lord, for the amazing blessings in my life.
