About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

It's the plumber! I've come to fix the sink!

Most of you probably won't get the reference to Electric Company in the title. I am probably showing my age, but I remember this cartoon from when I was a child. Whenever we talk about a plumber, I reenact the cartoon and it makes me laugh. The funny things that remember from our childhood.

Anyway, Aleck decided to experiment with the toilet this week and flushed his spaceship spoon. He called me into the bathroom to see what he had done. I could still see the spoon sticking out. In the time it took me to go find Tom to retrieve the spoon, Aleck had flushed the toilet again and the spoon became lodged in the toilet. Both Tom and I tried to retrieve the spoon by putting our arms in the toilet up to our elbows. Yuck!!!!!

Ralph, the nice plumber, had to take the toilet up from the floor and he still had a tough time dislodging the spoon. Ralph said, "Mam, what's on the end of that spoon? I can see it, but I am having a hard time getting it dislodged." Ralph was a super nice guy and made the whole experience, which cost me $179.02, not quite so annoying. I think I picked the wrong profession. Plumbers charge $100 an hour for labor. I suppose there are times when they earn every single penny.
