About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Jammin in the Jammies

Back in the spring, Aleck and I attended St. Vincent’s auction and fund raiser.  I bid on a night of babysitting provided by Mrs. Dickey, Mrs. Lillie and Mrs. Benefiel.  The theme of the night was Jammin in the Jammies.  Everyone wore their pajamas, but Aleck wanted to wear his Spiderman costume.  He has practically lived in that costume this summer.  I barely get it off him long enough to wash it.  Now that I think about it, he has slept in it, so it does qualify as his pajamas.

Aleck had a great time eating pizza, painting shirts and watching Rio.  Thankfully, he passed on the fingernail painting part of the evening.

We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and people would smile as we walked by.  I want my children to know that it is ok to be different, and they don’t have to conform and follow the crowd.  If that means grocery shopping with Spiderman, then so be it.DSC_6915
