About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. I'm a Mississippi country girl transplanted to Grapevine, TX. I have been blessed with a great husband, and my kiddos, Aleck and Ella. When I'm not eating bon bons on the couch, I am my kid's room mom, PTA member, Sunday School teacher, taxi driver, amateur photographer and personal chef. When I'm not doing those things, I'm running a small jewelry business, 2nd Amendment Jewelry (www.2ndamendmentjewelry.com), that I started with my twin sister, Glenda. It's a crazy and busy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life!

Last Day of Summer

Where did the summer break go?  Aleck goes to preschool on Monday.  It makes me sad that my firstborn is growing up so fast.

We had a very full day.  We started the day with donuts at Busy B’s with Brooke, Presley and Dede.  Then, we headed to an indoor play area at The Hills Church of Christ.  I am always on the lookout for a good indoor play area, and the kids loved this one.

We made it home just in time for an early lunch.  Aleck said he was tired and crawled into bed for a nap at 12:15 p.m.  I can’t remember the last time he wanted to take a nap.  Actually, I’m not sure it’s ever happened.

After nap time, we headed to St. Vincent’s to meet the teachers for the fall.  Aleck has Mrs. Dickey, and Ella has Mrs. Cook.  Since the kids know both their teachers from church, I couldn’t be happier.  They already know and love them.  It’s a great start to a new school year.

We finished the day with a play date with Savannah and Peyton, twins from Aleck’s class last year.

No wonder I’m so stinking tired!
